Meteorito ID

Meteorite ID (available only in Portuguese BR) is a tool developed to assist in the identification of possible meteorites, that is, fragments of solid bodies from the Solar System that cross the Earth's atmosphere and reach the surface. To find out if a rock has a chance of having come from space, just answer the test questions about the characteristics it presents. If so, it is possible to easily send photos of the suspected rock for analysis by email or through the social networks of the Meteoritos Brasil project, which since 2013 has sought to identify new meteorites in the national territory. This step is important, as many terrestrial rocks are mistaken for meteorites. We hope you are the discoverer of the next Brazilian meteorite! After all, these extraterrestrial rocks help scientists better understand the origin and evolution of our Solar System.
