The supplication of the fasting person at the time of breaking the fast is one of the best times for supplication, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan, because it is an act of worship that combines the virtue of time with the virtue of worship itself. Fasting is among the most beloved deeds to God, as God Almighty said in a hadith qudsi narrated by the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him: “God Almighty said: ‘Every deed of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting; it is for Me, and I will reward for it.’” (Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim). The supplication of the fasting person at the time of breaking the fast is answered, as the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, promised when he said: “There are three whose supplication is not rejected… and the fasting person until he breaks his fast.” (Narrated by Ibn Majah). Supplication is one of the most obligatory acts of faith, a way of asking God and fulfilling the meaning of servitude. The supplication of the fasting person at the time of breaking the fast is a Sunnah of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, especially since when he broke his fast he would say: “O God, for You I have fasted, and with Your provision I have broken my fast. Thirst has gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed, God willing.” (Narrated by Abu Dawud). However, the best supplications are those found in the Holy Quran. God Almighty taught us how to supplicate to Him when He revealed verses containing supplications to Him. He also taught us supplication through the supplications of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Therefore, it is recommended to frequently recite these comprehensive supplications, which God Almighty conveyed through His Prophet and in His clear Book. Supplicate with certainty that God will answer. Furthermore, sincere supplication from the heart is essential for every Muslim, as it contains all goodness. For this reason, scholars have established this order when beginning supplications and beseeching God, combining the supplications narrated in the Quran and Sunnah with private supplications that one may offer between oneself and one's Lord.
