Winter Congress of the Digital Society, February 20-21, 2026 The Winter Congress is the annual meeting of the Digital Society: On Friday evening, February 20, and Saturday, February 21, 2026, hackers, programmers, activists, and other interested individuals will gather for the ninth time at the Rote Fabrik in Zurich to discuss topics related to information technology, networking, and their impact on our society. The Winter Congress is the most important event for digital civil liberties in Switzerland. It is a non-commercial event organized by and for the community. This community includes members of government agencies, academia, politics, and the media, who will engage with the interested public at the Winter Congress. The event aims to inspire civic engagement. The program includes over 30 lectures and workshops divided into four thematic tracks. These range from "Digital Self-Defense" and "Ethics, Science, Culture & Society" to "Law & Politics" and "Networks, Security, Hardware & Software." In addition to the thematic focuses, there will be ample opportunity for spontaneous discussions. The Winter Congress is a co-production of Rote Fabrik and the Digital Society.
