Flamengo idol (ranked 10th among the greatest football idols in the club's history, in a ranking drawn up by specialists from the newspapers O Globo and Extra in 2020), Adriano was one of the best strikers in the world in the mid-2000s: he enjoyed five magnificent seasons in Italy with Parma and Internazionale respectively, earning him the nickname L'Imperatore (the Emperor).
