The new app from the Aquileia Foundation allows you to explore, in an engaging and immersive way, the archaeological and cultural sites of Aquileia, founded in 181 BC and becoming one of the largest cities of the Roman Empire, as well as one of the most important ancient ports on the Adriatic. App features: • Discover the opening hours of points of interest and information on ticket types available. • Access a range of multimedia content to immerse yourself in the history of the UNESCO site and experience the city in 360°: you can choose to navigate the Speaking Map, listen to two podcasts, and view the constantly updated calendar of events. • Choose what to visit; you'll find descriptions of all the archaeological and cultural sites. • Interact with the avatars of Aratria Galla and the young archaeologist. You can choose between augmented reality mode, to contextualize the avatar in your space, and virtual reality. The avatars will answer your questions, sharing interesting facts and anecdotes about Roman history, in the case of Aratria Galla, and history from the Middle Ages to the present day, in the case of the archaeologist. The Aquileia Foundation is the managing body of the UNESCO site, established in 2008 to promote the extraordinary archaeological heritage of Aquileia.
