Together with local guides, you can discover iconic buildings, Bata houses and a unique factory complex from May to September. Zlín is a city that was created thanks to the visionary philosophy of the Bata company. Thoughtful urban planning, modern architecture and functional design have created a city that still fascinates architects, historians and visitors today. Planned city The walk starts on Náměstí Míru near the town hall, designed by architect František Lýdie Gahura. The route takes you through the historic center, takes you to the factory complex and ends at the iconic Tomáš Bata Memorial, one of the most important functionalist buildings in the Czech Republic. Living at Bata Discover the famous working-class district of Letná with its typical brick houses scattered across the slopes. You will get to know the legendary Zlín half-timbered houses, quarter-timbered houses and detached houses, which have become a symbol of Bata housing. The tour also includes a visit to the Bata Housing Infopoint. Factory in the Gardens You can walk through the unique Bata factory complex, which is one of the best-preserved industrial complexes in Europe. You will learn how the famous Bata production system worked, how the factory buildings were designed and what they were equipped with.
