The short surahs of the Quran that are often recited during prayer and are easy to memorize are found in Juz 30, commonly known as Juz Amma (Juz 30 of the Quran). Juz Amma is the final juz of the Quran. As is known, the Muslim holy book consists of 30 juz. Each juz has its own distinct characteristics. It is named Juz Amma because the 30th juz of the Quran begins with Surah An-Naba', which begins with the word "amma." It ends with Surah An-Nas. Generally, the surahs in Juz Amma are shorter than those in other juz, thus being categorized as short surahs of the Quran. In total, Juz Amma consists of 37 surahs. Surah An-Naziat is the surah with the largest number of verses in this juz, with 46 verses. Following Surah Abasa, with 42 verses, are the 42 surahs. The shortest surah in Juz Amma, and also the shortest in the Quran, is Surah Al Kausar, which consists of 3 verses.
