Product expiration date control is an essential activity in various retail sectors, especially in supermarkets and hypermarkets, where the volume and variety of items require constant attention. The absence of accessible and effective tools for this purpose can result in waste, financial losses, and risks to public health due to the consumption of expired products. Despite the existence of several applications aimed at expiration date control, many of them have significant limitations, such as the requirement for paid subscriptions to access basic functionalities. This barrier compromises the democratization of the use of these technologies, especially among professionals who work directly in store operations and do not have the resources to invest in premium solutions. This project is justified by the need to offer a free, functional, and efficient alternative capable of meeting the real demands of these professionals. In addition, it represents an opportunity to apply, in practice, the knowledge acquired throughout the Big Data course, consolidating theoretical learning through the development of a technological solution with a positive social impact. By facilitating the management of expiration dates, the proposed application contributes to waste reduction, allows for preventive actions such as price reductions on products nearing their expiration date, and avoids the consumption of expired items, promoting savings and health. In this way, the project aligns with both educational objectives and concrete market needs.
