Anchor & Course Alarm

Anchor Alarm supports you during anchoring and helps you stay connected with your crew-mates on shore. Notice: • This application uses GPS tracking in the background to monitor the boat’s position and trigger an alarm if the boat leaves the safe zone. • The app can send SMS alerts (only if explicitly enabled) to a user-defined contact when the boat drags anchor. Main features: 1. Offline functionality: No internet required (except for weather forecasts and remote monitoring). 2. Weather forecasts: Check the 20-hour forecast for your current location. 3. Quick Anchor Setup: Set your position and adjust two-radius zones (blue and red guides) directly on the map. Long-click "Anchor" to lock settings. 4. Manual Entry: Manually add anchor or destination coordinates and track your position on a graph without internet. 5. Flexible Alerts: Choose any combination of push notifications, SMS alerts, or on-device sound alarms. 6. Remote Boat Monitoring: Check your boat’s position, safe zone, and track remotely. The host app on the boat replies with real-time data upon request. 7. Crew Locator: Add crew-mates to your list and easily locate them on the map—a unique feature for shore excursions. 8. Offline Maps: Download map tiles for use without data access (2 zoom levels available). 9. Low Battery Consumption: Optimised background service uses significantly less energy than similar GPS monitoring apps. 10. Reliability: Tracking automatically resumes after a device restart, preserving your recorded track. 11. Sailing History & Insights: Save your routes and anchorages locally as GPX files. Access a global, community-driven map of anonymous anchoring coordinates to find safe spots shared by other sailors. 12. Precise Location: Uses all available positioning methods for maximum accuracy. 13. Units: Choose between imperial, metric, and knots for wind speed. The app runs as a background service for maximum reliability. Even if the screen is off or the app is closed, the service continues to monitor your boat.
