As educators, we at Aydemav Studio aim to develop high-quality 🎉, safe 🔑, and free ⚖️ educational content. Following this goal, after a 20-month ⌛️ development process, we created and released the Turkish Dictionary Game completely free of charge 🎊. The Turkish Dictionary Game is the first and only project that presents the meanings and origins of 5,500 words using a gamification method. To keep user motivation high, an original story structure has been developed by field experts. Accordingly, 10 levels have been created from 10 excavation sites in Turkey. The excavation sites are chronologically ordered backward. To include the excavation sites in the game, they were meticulously researched and drawn as vector graphics for this project. Users collect gold coins by correctly guessing the meanings and origins of words in the excavation sites, and can use these gold coins to unlock new excavation sites. This gamification method motivates users to play the game to learn new words and makes them more persistent in mastering the necessary language skills. The user receives instant audio and visual feedback at every stage of the game. When the user correctly guesses a letter, a green line and a "correct" sound appear in the background of the excavation site; for an incorrect guess, a red line and an "incorrect" sound appear. Completing the word correctly also plays a completion sound and a word bonus appears. The Turkish Dictionary Game contains 550 words. These words are from 11 different origins: Turkish, French, Arabic, Italian, English, Persian, Serbian, Greek, Mongolian, Romanian, and Latin. This diverse and rich vocabulary awaits discovery in 10 excavation sites across Turkey. In the Turkish Dictionary Game, users must guess words letter by letter, along with their meanings and origins. Hints and a "pass" option are given during the guessing process. The meaning and origin of a word passed can be viewed at the end of the game. Gold collected for correctly guessing words can be used to unlock new excavation sites. Each site contains 550 words, each consisting of 2-10 letters. Each time the Turkish Dictionary Game is entered, a new word's meaning and origin appear at the bottom of the screen. This aims to enrich the user's vocabulary and reinforce their knowledge of words, meanings, and etymologies. The game also includes a word search menu. Users can search for words in this menu, and the most recently found words are displayed. To improve user experience, the game interface is designed in two themes: 🌘 dark and ☀️ light. The game rewards users with gold via a gold pot menu. A random number of gold coins are awarded from an optional gold pot ⚱️ after the user watches an advertisement. This allows users to collect bonus gold every 3 hours to unlock new excavation areas.
