ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE DISCLOSURE Easy Shortcut Maker uses the Android AccessibilityService API for one specific feature: opening two apps side by side in split screen. On Android 12 and older, Android provides no other way for an app to start split-screen mode. The AccessibilityService API is the only method available, so it is used solely to perform the system "toggle split screen" action at the moment you tap one of your split-screen shortcuts. What this service does: • Starts split-screen mode when you tap a split-screen shortcut you created • Detects when the first app has finished opening, so the second app can be placed in the correct half of the screen What this service does NOT do: • It cannot read the content of your screen • It does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal or usage data • It does not run any other background activity This service is completely optional. It is turned off by default, you are asked before it is ever enabled, and you must enable it yourself in your device's Accessibility settings. The rest of the app works normally without it. On Android 13 and newer the service is not used at all.
