Team Austria is the innovative platform for neighborhood support in emergencies – founded in 2008 by Ö3 radio and the Red Cross. Now, Team Austria is also going digital with its app. The app has three main features: "I want to be prepared" Agree on a fixed meeting point for the family before events, in case you get separated. Don't wait until the power goes out to think about candles, flashlights, or cooking facilities. The Team Austria app becomes your personal preparation assistant, providing tips that can save you a lot of trouble in everyday life and guiding you through the optimal preparation of your home for various emergency situations. App users can also perfectly prepare for the current challenge with tailored behavioral tips, for example, during heat waves or other exceptional events. "I want to be warned" In the event of severe weather or other disasters, fast, precise, and reliable information is crucial: Disaster and weather warnings are delivered precisely to individually defined locations (home, workplace, children's school, etc.). This allows for preventative measures to be taken in advance of disasters, thus preventing potential damage. "I want to help" The willingness to help others in times of need – that is and remains the foundation of the Team Austria concept. A new feature is the ability to become an online volunteer via smartphone: The Team Austria app can assign important tasks that help emergency responders better assess the situation and provide more targeted assistance, for example, during a heat wave, a snowstorm, or after a storm – such as measuring the temperature inside a home, reporting the exact snow depth, or sending photos of the surroundings. The app will also bring significant benefits to the more than 50,000 Team Austria members: They can be alerted to an incident directly through the app, receive all relevant information, and manage all their incident data perfectly.
