Real-time monitoring of flood warnings, rainfall levels, and sensor footage across Taiwan allows you to anticipate risks before heavy rain arrives.
During typhoons and torrential rains, the most anxiety-inducing aspect is often not the rainfall itself, but the uncertainty – not knowing if your neighborhood is flooded, whether your commute to work is safe, or if river levels are approaching warning lines. The "Flood Alerts" app is a convenient, easy-to-use, and readily accessible tool. Upon opening the app, the homepage displays an overview of flood alerts for all 22 counties and cities in Taiwan. The intuitive red, yellow, and green light indicators quickly pinpoint areas of concern and safety. Counties and cities under alert are automatically ranked at the top of the list, with higher alert levels appearing earlier. This provides immediate awareness of where to be cautious. Clicking on any county or city allows you to switch between viewing detailed data from "rain gauges" and "water level stations," including current rainfall, water level, Level 1/Level 2 alert thresholds, and the actual affected townships and villages for each station. The app's built-in real-time map displays thousands of flood sensors and CCTV monitoring stations across Taiwan on a single map. Considering the large number of monitoring stations, the map employs intelligent clustering technology. When the view is zoomed out, nearby points automatically merge into a single digital circle, only expanding into individual markers when zoomed in to a certain extent, preventing them from crowding together and accidental touches. Sensor markers automatically change color according to the currently detected flood depth (normal, over 0 cm, over 10 cm, over 30 cm, over 50 cm). Clicking on a marker displays the location's address, flood information, and flood depth. CCTV markers provide a live, rotating snapshot of the surveillance footage directly within the app, eliminating the need to switch to another website to check intersection flooding conditions. The newly added "My Favorites" feature allows you to save up to 6 of your most frequently used sensors for individual viewing of real-time flood conditions, clearly showing which locations are flooded and which are safe. More importantly, it features a proactive notification mechanism: You can select counties and cities you care about in the settings, or save sensors on the map. The app will periodically check their status in the background. Once the alert level rises or a saved sensor detects flooding, it will immediately send a push notification to remind you, eliminating the need to anxiously and repeatedly open the app to check. Considering various usage scenarios such as typhoon nights, power outages, and low light conditions, the app offers both light and dark themes. The dark mode specifically brightens the contrast of warning lights, ensuring clear and easily identifiable warning information even in dim environments or at night. Whether you're a commuter needing to assess your route, a child concerned about the safety of their elderly relatives' homes, or simply a general user wanting extra peace of mind during typhoon season, this app can be your pocket-sized flood prevention assistant. ## Featured Items - 📍 Overview of flood warnings in all 22 counties and cities in Taiwan, automatically listed at the top, with more severe areas appearing first. - 🌧️ Real-time data from rain gauges/water level stations, including warning thresholds and affected areas. - 🗺️ Smart cluster map, thousands of sensors/CCTVs no longer appear as a jumbled mess. - 💧 Sensors automatically graded and color-coded according to flood depth. - 📹 CCTV live video loop, instantly confirming the situation on-site. - ⭐ My favorite sensors, providing real-time updates on key locations. - 🔔 Background warning push notifications, instantly notifying you of any changes in status. - 🌓 Light/dark dual themes, comfortable for nighttime use.
