VEHICLES, EQUIPMENT & OBJECTS Daily Signal can also provide a simple indication that a vehicle, mobile asset, machine or other object has been moved or used. Secure the Android phone appropriately to the item you want to monitor. Movement of the item moves the phone and is recorded as activity. This can be useful when you simply need to know whether something has moved, been handled or remained inactive — without installing dedicated monitoring hardware. For example, place a spare Android phone securely on a frequently used fridge. Opening the fridge moves the phone and provides an activity signal. Or secure the phone appropriately to a vehicle or piece of mobile equipment to determine whether it has experienced movement. If expected movement stops for longer than the period you configure, Daily Signal can send an inactivity alert. It does not detect movement elsewhere in a room. When the phone is attached to or placed on an object, movement of that object is used as the activity signal.
