How to Play RuinLink 1. Goal • Create chains to destroy ⚔️ or flip ☯️ your opponent's pieces (depending on the mode). • To Win: Have more pieces when the board is full. 2. Getting Started • Board: 8x8, 10x10, or 12x12. • Take turns placing a piece (⚪ or ⚫) on an empty square ⬜️. • White ⚪ goes first. 3. Creating Chains and Activating Actions To attack, create a continuous chain of the same color (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally). The action is triggered if the chain follows the rules below: • 3-Piece Chain: Requires 2 open ends (an empty square ⬜️ or the board edge). Example: ⬜️⚪️⚪️⚪️⬜️ (two open ends) → Activates! Example: ⚫️⚪️⚪️⚪️⬜️ (one end is blocked) → DOES NOT activate! • 4+ Piece Chain: Always activates, regardless of whether the ends are blocked. Example: ⚫️⚪️⚪️⚪️⚪️⚫️ (both ends are blocked) → Still activates! Action After Activation (choose one at the start): • Type 1: Destroy Pieces ⚔️ Remove all opponent's pieces on the same line as the chain. • Type 2: Flip Pieces ☯️ Convert all opponent's pieces on that same line into your own. 4. Ending the Game • The board is full: The player with more pieces wins. If the piece counts are equal, it's a Draw. • 3-fold repetition (Destroy mode only): The game is also a Draw.
