In 1945, Gaspare Maiorana opened an apple stand on 7 Mile in Livonia, MI. He and his family sold fresh, local fruit to neighbors and passers-by for years – until 1967, when Gaspare’s son, Joe Sr., started a full-service produce market. That small store grew into what is now one of the most recognized and respected names in the Detroit area: Joe’s Produce Gourmet Market.
