Polyglot Trainer: Listen & Learn is a language-learning app designed to help you memorize words and phrases, their translations, and correct pronunciation. Words and phrases are played in a random order. First, you try to recall the translation on your own. After a short pause, the app automatically plays the correct answer so that you can check yourself. The learning method is based on flashcards: one side contains a phrase in your native language, while the other contains its translation into the language you are learning. Supported languages: English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, and Hindi. App features: 1. The app’s main features, including the built-in text-to-speech engine, are available free of charge. A subscription provides access to more natural-sounding cloud text-to-speech, allows you to edit existing courses and create new ones, and removes advertisements. You can cancel your subscription at any time, including during the free trial period, if one is available. 2. You can select the interface language: English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, or Hindi. 3. An internet connection is required only when using cloud text-to-speech. 4. You can select individual sections and phrases or exclude them from your training sessions. 5. The menu icon is located in the upper-right corner of the screen. In the menu, you can select the interface language, set the pause duration from 1 to 20 seconds, and choose one of three training modes: - the phrase is spoken in the language you are learning and, after a pause, in your native language; - the phrase is spoken in your native language and, after a pause, in the language you are learning; - the phrase is spoken only in the language you are learning, with a pause before the next phrase. 6. The menu also includes additional features available with a subscription: - more natural-sounding cloud text-to-speech; - course editing mode, which allows you to edit existing courses, create new ones, and share them with other users. For your first training sessions, it is recommended to select no more than ten phrases. Once you can easily recall the translations of the phrases played by the app, you can gradually add new ones. It is recommended to alternate between the “language you are learning → native language” and “native language → language you are learning” modes. When using the second mode, it is helpful to say the foreign-language phrases aloud.
