The course builds on the FernUniversität's basic course "Java - Concepts, Techniques, and Programming" and requires basic knowledge of Java. It is aimed at professional Java programmers as well as ambitious Java amateurs who want to expand their knowledge of working with databases. This course introduces the most important Java technologies for application development for databases (such as Oracle, MySQL, and MS Access). In addition to JDBC (Java Database Connectivity) combined with the query language SQL, the course covers the technologies JavaBeans and JDO (Java Data Objects). The written exam can be taken online or at a FernUniversität Hagen campus location of your choice. Upon passing the exam, you will receive a university certificate. Students can also have earned ECTS credits certified for a Certificate of Basic Studies.
