Cardioequivalencias

CARDIOEQUIVALENCIAS is an application developed by Ferrer Internacional, S.A., whose objective is to help the therapeutic exchange of active principles and equivalent doses, to the doctors involved in the management of cardiovascular health. A therapeutic equivalent is understood to be a drug that is different in its chemical structure from the original, but for which a similar therapeutic effect and adverse effect profile is expected when administered to a patient at equivalent doses. Therapeutic exchange is understood as the substitution of a chemically different drug from the one prescribed, but considered therapeutic equivalent or better therapeutic alternative, based on a previously established and accepted protocol. CARDIOEQUIVALENCIAS contains three buttons that allow: converting the dose of an ARB II to the dose of an ACEI, converting the dose of an ACEI to the dose of another ACEI, and finding the lipid-lowering efficacy equivalences between the different statins, for the same reduction LDL cholesterol level. Furthermore, CARDIOEQUIVALENCIAS indicates the equivalences in which it is possible to reduce polypharmacy by using a polypill and thus simplify treatment. Due to its design, the application is very intuitive and easy to use.
