The WORD PUZZLE application contains 3 games: - the entertaining, word-forming WORD PUZZLE, - the vocabulary-developing WORD PUZZLE - and the SPELLING game containing language tests. A brief description of the 3 game types can be found below. Further details can be found by tapping the INFORMATION (“i”) button within the game. Thank you very much in advance and have a good game! 1) WORD PUZZLE Our goal is to create 1 Hungarian word as long as possible from the given 10+1 letter cards (the +1 card is a joker). The longest word that can be created can consist of 10 letter cards. 1–4 players can play in a 3, 5 or 10 round variation, with various time settings. The words are accepted by the players at the end of the rounds (there is no automatic check). Suggested basic rules for judging the correctness of a created word: - It must exist and comply with Hungarian spelling. - It can be a simple or complex word, and suffixes are also allowed. - It is allowed to create a letter from several letter cards (e.g. the letter “SZ” from “S” and “Z” cards). - The goal is to create 1 long word, so the joker cannot be used as a space. - The word must not be obscene or offensive. - In case of doubt, we primarily use the current spelling rules and dictionary. The players determine the “poetic freedom” when creating compound words. The above rules can of course be relaxed (e.g., wildcard spaces can be used) or tightened (e.g., only words in a given topic can be used, or proper nouns are not allowed). We can save our ideas and versions during thinking with the MEMORY function. 4 words can be stored in a given game round. The words in the storage spaces are overwritten if we press the STORE button for a new word. It is important that we must reload our final word before the time runs out, if it is still among the 4 words in the memory. 2) WORD DEBUG Our goal is to use all the letter cards to solve the word according to the definition. We can find puzzles in 6 categories that test and develop our vocabulary. A vocabulary box contains 10 tasks. If we manage to solve at least 8, we will open the next box of the given category. If the boxes run out, the last box opening will apply to new boxes expected during a major application update. 3) SPELLING In the SPELLING game, we can improve and test our spelling at 3 difficulty levels (basic, advanced, omniscient). In addition to the PRACTICE function, we can test our strength with the BIG TEST and THE MINUTE IS THE WAY WE LIVE games, with up to 4 players, with different game settings (3 levels, round-based gameplay, different number of questions and number of lives). During the PRACTICE, you can also choose the difficulty level and topic (j or ly, single and separate spelling, short and long vowels, geographical names). The puzzles are based on the 12th edition of the spelling rules. The primary reference is the spelling rules and dictionary of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. For those over 13 years of age, the online GOOGLE PLAY GAMES leaderboards for the SPELLING game are also available. In the case of multiple players, the system always tries to upload only the result of player number 1 to the online leaderboard (with the active GOOGLE PLAY GAMES account details), since all players receive the same questions.
