The most well-known, the CAMINO DE LEVANTE, connects ORIHUELA and MURCIA with CARAVACA de la CRUZ. Since the 13th century, CARAVACA has housed one of the splinters of the True Cross on which Jesus Christ died. This fact has made it deserving of being a special place for pilgrims, especially since Pope John Paul II granted CARAVACA de la CRUZ the Perpetual Jubilee. Pilgrims and hikers embark on a journey towards inner renewal through the LEVANTE WAY. On foot, by bicycle, or on horseback, each chooses the best way to experience their spirituality during the 120 kilometers that separate the start of the journey, Orihuela, and the end: the SANCTUARY of the TRUE CROSS.
