He worked as a teacher at a Quran memorization school in Mecca and later as a teacher for the Quran memorization group at the Grand Mosque in Mecca. He was famous for his melodious voice in the Hijazi style of recitation and would open official and royal occasions with his recitation. One of his most prominent students was Dr. Muhammad Ayyub (may God have mercy on him).
