Road Event Detector

Road Event Detector is a Renault Group Application. It is designed for Renault Group vehicles with built-in Android Automotive infotainment system. The application detects geo-localized and safety oriented road events based on the vehicle dynamics, sensors and/or perception. It collects location data even when the app is closed or not in use. Detected road events conforms with the C-ITS (Cooperative Intelligent Transport System) related specifications. E.g., Stationary Vehicle, Traffic Jam, Slippery Road, Poor Weather Conditions, etc. The detected road events are collected in off-board server. Road events data in off-board server may be shared with third party C-ITS actors, based on the reciprocity, or monetized following specific commercial contract.
