Chip tycoon sim. Design CPUs, build GPUs, dominate the chip industry from 1995.
Hello to everyone who has spent years looking for a truly deep electronics tycoon. Maybe you always wanted a game where you could actually design processors and graphics cards, build your own architectures, and run a company like Intel, AMD, Nvidia, or Apple. I wanted that too. But almost every game I found had some kind of painful compromise. Some reduced chip design to a few basic sliders and a single performance number. Others had scripted markets that barely reacted to what you created. So I started making the game I wanted to play myself. Here you can design your own CPUs and GPUs, configure their architecture, and build the actual chip layout. But creating the chip is only the beginning. Your processor continues to exist inside the game world. A laptop manufacturer may decide to use it in a new device. If the cooling system is too weak, the chip may overheat and throttle under load. Its performance will depend on the games, programs, operating systems, and workloads it is used for. The market reacts to all of this. Journalists may criticize your new processor for being too expensive or barely faster than the previous generation. Customers may love its efficiency, hate its software support, or simply decide that your competitor offers a better deal. A technically impressive chip does not automatically become a successful product. Hardware also needs software. You can develop your own instruction set architecture and operating system. You will need to improve multithreading, browser performance, software compatibility, and online services. Designing the best piece of silicon is only half the job. Building an ecosystem around it is where things become really difficult. The game also includes semiconductor factories, process node development, and many AI-controlled competitors with different strategies and personalities. I will not pretend that every system already works perfectly. The game is still growing and many parts of it are being improved. But these systems are already here, they interact with each other, and the game is becoming closer to the electronics tycoon I spent years trying to find. Maybe it is the game you were looking for too.
