Scots Dictionary

Scots, the vernacular of Lowland Scotland, is descended from early Northern Middle English. Scots is also often referred to as Lallans (Lowlands), Broad Scots and, in days gone by, Scotch, or by local names such the Patter, Dundonian, Glesca, the Doric, the Buchan Claik, Orkney, Shetland, and to some, simply Scottish dialect. The App provides definitions of Scots words and a few short phrases in English or possible Scots translations of English words. The App includes a Scots pronunciation and spelling guide.
