Reading tracker — sessions, goals, insights.
Reader's Diary is a private reading tracker for people who want to log what they read, no matter what the source is - paper, e-book, or audiobooks. THE TIMER Tap Start when you open a book, tap Stop when you close it. The timer keeps running while you read — even with the screen off, the app backgrounded, or the phone in your pocket. A foreground-service notification keeps the session alive so Android does not kill it, and the session survives a force-stop or a reboot. When you finish, the session is logged automatically against the book you were reading. YOUR LIBRARY Add books by searching Open Library or Google Books, or enter them manually. Capture covers with the camera or pick from your photos. Track format (paperback, e-book, audiobook), language, genre, page or audio length, your rating, and your notes. Mark books as Want to Read, Reading, Finished, or DNF. Filter, sort, and search across your full library. GOALS AND INSIGHTS Set weekly, monthly, or yearly reading goals — in minutes, pages, or whole books — and watch your progress fill in as you log sessions. Per-book stats show your reading pace and total time invested. Weekly and monthly summaries show streaks and patterns. The year-end recap turns the year into a shareable image you can send to a friend or post on your social media. REMINDERS Optional, on your schedule. Pick a time and the days you want a nudge to read. Reminders fire locally — no server involved. Turn them off any time. BACKUPS AND IMPORT Export an encrypted snapshot of all your data, or a ZIP archive you can move between devices. Import resolves conflicts row by row, so nothing gets clobbered. Coming from Goodreads or StoryGraph? Import the CSV file they let you export. Leaving Reader's Diary? Take your data with you. PRIVACY - All data lives on your device. There is no server we run, because there is no account. - The on-device database is encrypted at rest with a key held in the Android Keystore. - The only outbound network calls are to Open Library and Google Books, and only when you actively search for a book. Your typed query is sent; no identifier of yours is attached. - No analytics, no advertising SDKs, no third-party trackers. None. We checked. - Crash reporting is off by default. If you ever want to send a diagnostic log, you trigger it manually from Settings and review the content before it leaves the device. - A "Delete all data" button in Settings wipes everything in one tap. LANGUAGES English and Russian. Themes: light, dark, or follow system. REQUIREMENTS Android 11 or newer. The app is offline-first — no connection required to track sessions or browse your library. Reader's Diary is for the kind of reader who wants the satisfaction of seeing the years stack up, without the surveillance.
