For early music there are historical, unequal temperaments: Pythagorean, quarter- and sixth-comma meantone, Werckmeister III, Kellner (Bach), Kirnberger II and III, Vallotti and Young II — or twelve cent values of your own. This lets you match the tuning philosophy to instrument, repertoire and room. 🗂 BUILT FOR WORK ON CUSTOMER INSTRUMENTS A piano is not a one-off job but an instrument you look after for years. The instrument catalogue keeps every piano as a named card: metadata, temperament, concert pitch and the tuning targets you deliberately set with “here = 0” — a card deck with editor, duplicate and search. At the next appointment you load the instrument and carry on in its familiar frame of reference. Note memory also remembers every note you have already tuned. 🎛 NOTE DETECTION AND DISPLAY Automatic note detection, chromatic pitch advance and manual switching. The automatic mode follows the attack and is no longer misled by partials or decay. The coarse range breathes with the reading: it widens to ±200 cents for large deviations and contracts to ±50 cents near the target. 🎤 MULTIPLE MICROPHONES AND RECORDINGS On devices with a stereo microphone pair, both channels are analysed separately and combined per partial — steadier readings, especially in the treble. OnlyPure therefore works with a harmonic equivalent pitch. Compared with fundamental-based tuners, deviations of 2–3 cents sharp (about 0.8–0.9 Hz at A4) are normal.
