Flaca

Flaca is the first dating app exclusively for women and designed by women in Latin America. Our platform has a unique approach, promoting female empowerment and reducing cultural and language barriers to connect couples. Based on our analysis and cultural knowledge, we have determined that the most compatible couples are those between Latin American women and American men. Our app is available in Peru, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile. Each Flaca user will only see profiles from users of Don Mr., the corresponding app for American men. Because we are a dating app focused on building serious relationships, we want to prevent unconscious "swiping." Dating pattern research shows that women tend to reject many profiles. Therefore, we have established the rule that after rejecting 10 profiles, each Flaca user will see a 10-second pause screen with a tip about fashion, dating, safety, and travel. Another feature that makes our app unique is the real-time translation system. Each user can send messages in Spanish, and the corresponding American user will see the messages in English. Similarly, every Flaca user will see messages translated into Spanish. Given our commitment to promoting female empowerment, our app has unique features such as a support connection between friends. On the "Friends" screen, users can share their profiles with friends and receive suggestions for improving their profile presentations or get compliments from their friends. Additionally, on the "Account" screen, users can anonymously share a thought or story each day, making it a tool for collective empowerment. Finally, the "Diary" screen allows users to write down five non-negotiable goals for each day. We are committed to promoting the safety of our users; therefore, we have established a manual moderation system. Each user can report and block profiles through various screens within the app. At the same time, we have a member of our team reviewing profiles daily to remove suspicious and/or spam accounts. At Flaca, we are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment that facilitates serious relationships between Latin American women and U.S. men. We firmly believe in the high degree of compatibility between these two demographics and therefore want to help reduce the cultural and language barriers.
