Car screen mirroring to your car's browser. Your phone stays free to use.
Car screen mirroring sends one of your phone's apps to your car's built-in web browser. Open Carmiro, choose an app, and it appears on the car display while your phone stays in your hand. The two screens run independently. Carmiro casts a single app into its own window instead of copying your whole phone, so the car display and the phone display never show the same picture. While a video plays in the car browser, you can still take a call, follow directions, or answer a message on the phone. Car screen mirroring runs over your local network. The phone sends the screen cast straight to the car browser, and the video never leaves your local network. Once the car browser connects to the phone, the screen cast starts within a few seconds. Carmiro relies on wireless debugging in Developer Options. The app walks you through this one-time setup on first launch and pairs automatically after that. A VPN connection is used only to route the screen cast between the phone and the car browser on your local network. It does not send traffic to any outside server, and no data is collected through it. You can see what the VPN does on the setup screen before turning it on. A few streaming apps block playback on a second display because of DRM, so those show a black window in the car browser. That restriction comes from the app itself, not from Carmiro. Set everything up while parked, and keep your attention on the road once you are moving. Car screen mirroring with Carmiro casts only the app you pick, so the phone stays yours to use.
