Comenia Script Tracing Letters

The application “Comenia Script: Meadow Letters” is a game for the littlest writers. In an entertaining way it acquaints children with a new form of handwriting using Comenia Script. At the same time, it supports freeing the hand (graphomotor skills) by means of tracing a letter (each letter of the alphabet) on the whole surface of your tablet or phone. That makes it suitable for children before they start practising writing Comenia Script in grade first grade, but even for preschoolers. “Comenia Script: Meadow Letters” is an application that can be used also by children who do not write with Comenia Script, or by adults who wish to learn this simple and easily readable form of handwriting. The application can be used for work in school, at home, or while travelling. Users, grown up and small, will also welcome the choice of strokes for right-handers and left-handers. Comenia Script was tested by the Czech Ministry of Education in a two-year trial project from 2010 to 2012, and has been approved as an alternative for use in Czech elementary schools. The National Institute of Adult Education (Národní ústav dalšího vzdělávání) has already trained more than 1,400 teachers in the use of this new handwriting at their schools. At the beginning of the application you will find a table for the selection of symbols, on which the big letters of the alphabet are blue, the little ones green, and numbers are pink. The application is accompanied by sounds produced when making the right strokes and also when making mistakes. After being written, the letter is compared with the model. Then comes a symbol from the ‘Comenia Pictures’ pictorial alphabet, which helps children to remember the particular letter.
