FriendLock

FriendLock helps you keep selected distracting apps behind an accountability lock. Choose apps on your own phone, pair with a trusted approver, and require a temporary unlock code or one-tap approval before opening a locked app. How it works: 1. Choose the apps you want to lock 2. Pair with a trusted friend, parent, or accountability partner by QR code 3. Open a locked app 4. Unlock temporarily using a 6-digit code from the paired device, or send an approval request 5. The paired device can approve or deny the request Key features: - Lock selected launchable apps - Pair devices with QR codes - Unlock with a time-limited 6-digit code - Request remote approval from a paired device - View live approval codes in the Codes tab - Configure unlock duration in Settings - Optional high-contrast lock screen - Optional removal protection speed-bump before uninstalling - Works as an accountability tool for self-restriction and focus FriendLock is designed for deliberate app access. It does not claim to be an unbreakable lock. On a normal Android phone, the device owner can still bypass app restrictions through system-level actions such as force-stop, Safe Mode, factory reset, or ADB. FriendLock adds accountability and visibility, not absolute device control. Sensitive access is used only for app functionality: - Accessibility Service reads foreground app changes so FriendLock can show the lock screen when an app you chose to lock opens. - Usage Access reads recent foreground app activity as a fallback detector when Accessibility Service is unavailable. - Display over other apps lets FriendLock show the lock screen above the locked app. - Notifications are used for approval requests, approval results, tamper alerts, and the ongoing protection service notification. - Camera access is used only to scan pairing QR codes. - Device admin is optional and used only for removal protection. Privacy: FriendLock does not sell user data and does not use app activity for ad targeting. App activity is used to detect selected locked apps, route unlock requests, and support approval flows. Free and Pro: FriendLock Free may show ads on in-app screens only. Ads are not shown on the lock overlay. FriendLock Pro removes ads, unlocks unlimited locked apps, and enables custom lock-screen styles.
