Control Sony speakers and soundbars over Wi-Fi. No ads, no account.

๐Ÿ”Š A remote control for your Sony network speakers, on your phone. Ondara finds Sony network audio devices on your Wi-Fi and controls them directly, phone to speaker. There is no cloud service, no account and no sign-in โ€” the app talks to the device on your own local network, and to nothing else. ๐Ÿ” FINDS YOUR DEVICES Ondara looks for Sony audio devices on the Wi-Fi network your phone is already connected to. It first listens for devices that announce themselves, so the nearest ones appear in about a second, then checks the addresses on your local network for the devices that do not announce themselves. Whatever it finds is remembered, so the next launch opens straight onto your speakers instead of searching again. ๐ŸŽ›๏ธ ONLY THE CONTROLS YOUR DEVICE ACTUALLY HAS Every Sony model exposes a different set of features, so Ondara asks each device what it supports and shows only that. You never get a control the speaker in front of you cannot obey. โ€ข Power on, and back to standby โ€ข Volume and mute, using the range the device itself reports โ€” not a guessed 0 to 50 โ€ข Sound field, DSEE HX and ClearAudio+ where the device offers them, listing the settings it offers โ€ข 5-band equaliser, when the device is on its custom sound field โ€ข Input switching, with the active input marked โ€ข Battery level on portable speakers that report one, and no battery display at all on the devices that do not ๐Ÿ  SEES YOUR SPEAKER GROUPS If your devices are in a Google Cast group, Ondara shows the group, its members and which device is currently leading it. Creating and editing groups stays in Google Home โ€” Ondara only reads. ๐Ÿ“ก YOUR LOCAL NETWORK, AND NOTHING ELSE Ondara speaks to your speaker over your Wi-Fi, using the network interface the device already exposes to the Sony app. To find devices it briefly opens a connection to each address on your local network and checks whether a Sony audio device answers; addresses that do not answer are discarded straight away, and nothing about your network is stored or sent anywhere. Ondara contacts no server on the internet, ever. ๐Ÿ”’ NO DATA COLLECTED โ€ข No adverts, no trackers, no analytics, no crash reporting โ€ข No account, no registration, no email address โ€ข Nothing is sent to the internet โ€” there is no server to send it to โ€ข The only thing kept is the list of speakers you have found: their local address, port and name, held on your phone and deleted with the app ๐Ÿ“ฑ SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Android 8.0 or newer. Your phone and your speaker must be on the same Wi-Fi network โ€” this cannot work over mobile data. You need a Sony network audio device that answers on the local network; not every model does, and firmware makes a difference, so run a scan before deciding. Without a device on the network Ondara opens normally and simply reports that it found nothing. โš ๏ธ AN INDEPENDENT APP Sony, SongPal, DSEE HX and ClearAudio+ are trademarks of Sony Corporation. Ondara is an independent, third-party project with no affiliation with Sony, and no endorsement, sponsorship or support from Sony. It is provided as is, without warranty. Sony's own app is not required to use Ondara, and Ondara is not a replacement for it.
