Visit application for the National Renaissance Museum – Château d’Ecouen

Thanks to this application, discover the riches of the Château d'Ecouen and the collections of the National Renaissance Museum. A major monument of French Renaissance architecture, the Château d'Écouen, built from 1538 by Anne de Montmorency, principal minister of Kings François I and Henri II, is located in an enclosed domain surrounded by a forest to the north of Paris, just 20 minutes from the capital by train. Desired by André Malraux, Minister of Culture, and inaugurated in 1977 by Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, President of the Republic, the National Renaissance Museum is installed in the castle. The museum maintains a permanent dialogue between its collections, mainly decorative art, and the castle, evoking the furnishings of a large residence and recounting the civilization of the European Renaissance.
