Saint Alban-Leysse Autrefois

The Saint Alban-Leysse town hall is equipping itself with a digital historical application listing points of interest in the community's heritage. The objective is to digitize the application to promote the local historical heritage and disseminate relevant knowledge to as many people as possible. This medium contributes to the development of local tourism. This application is an extension of the reference work "Saint Alban-Leysse Autrefois" (published in 2001, republished in 2012) by the "Bien Vivre à Saint Alban" association. It takes the form of an interactive map containing audio commentaries by Christiane Salomon and Michel Dyen. The textual and photographic presentation of the sites is largely based on the aforementioned work "Saint Alban-Leysse Autrefois." Christiane Salomon, co-author of the reference work "Saint Alban-Leysse Autrefois," and Michel Dyen, the current mayor, lend their voices to the app and share their knowledge and anecdotes about these various sites. This media is also a way to pay tribute to Christiane Salomon, who passed away in May 2022. She had lived in Saint Alban-Leysse since July 1, 1978, and worked as a school teacher for 35 years. She was passionate about the history and past of her community. Michel Dyen, a native of Saint Alban-Leysse, spent his entire childhood and youth in Leysse. Together, they offer an immersion into the Saint Alban-Leysse of yesteryear, bringing memories of yesteryear back to life. This application was designed by the municipality with technical support from Saint Alban-Leysse specialist developer Emeric Grange, and the support of Catherine Grangeat, daughter of Christiane Salomon, and the association Bien Vivre à Saint Alban-Leysse, which contributed to the development of the book "Saint Alban-Leysse Autrefois."
