Turn your phone into a fast, reliable flashlight and, when it matters, into a light signaling device. Torch controls your device's camera LED. Beyond plain light, it sends internationally recognized emergency signals in Morse code, so the phone in your pocket becomes a way to be seen and understood in the dark. In the mountains, at sea, in a forest or during a blackout, a flashing light can be seen from far away and, unlike shouting, it does not wear you out. Morse code turns that light into a message: SOS is understood worldwide, and six flashes per minute is the distress signal recognized by mountain rescue services. The flash depends on your device's hardware, permissions and charge level, and continuous use drains the battery quickly. Never rely on a phone as your only light source or your only way to call for help: in the backcountry always carry a dedicated flashlight, spare batteries and, where appropriate, a certified emergency beacon.
