Ludus Latrunculorum

board game played by the ancient Romans of which few descriptions have survived. The rules have been imagined based on the information found. The game consists of a king and pawns. The King and pawns move horizontally and vertically without being able to jump over other pieces. Capture conditions: A pawn is captured if it is surrounded on two opposite sides by the opponent. If the pawn is in the corner, it is captured by occupying the two free sides. Additionally a lance of 3 pieces in a row capture next opponent, this rules makes the game more strategic.
