Breathalyzer (virtual breathalyzer) is an application for calculating the concentration of alcohol in the blood and exhaled air after drinking a certain amount of alcoholic beverages, as well as calculating the time for removing alcohol from the body. The method for determining alcohol concentration is based on a formula developed by Swedish chemist Erik Widmark. The formula has been modified to increase the accuracy of the result. The formula determines the maximum theoretically possible concentration of alcohol in the blood A/(m * r), where A – amount of pure alcohol in grams m – body weight in kilograms r – reduction factor The reduction coefficient is calculated according to weight, height and gender according to the formulas proposed by S. Seidl U. Jensen. The resorption deficit is calculated depending on the fullness of the stomach and the alcohol concentration. The application calculates the following indicators Equivalent to drunk in pure alcohol Blood alcohol content Alcohol content in exhaled air Time of elimination to an acceptable level of 0.16 mg/l Complete elimination time Time for complete sobering up Equivalent doses of alcohol Naturally, a calculator cannot replace a breathalyzer. The calculated time for alcohol elimination is approximate, as it depends on many difficult-to-predict factors and characteristics of the body. The actual alcohol content in exhaled air and the time it takes to eliminate it may differ from those calculated.
