Al-Bukhari, Abu Abdullah (194-256 A.H., 810-870 A.D.). Muhammad bin Ismail bin Ibrahim bin Al-Mughirah Al-Bukhari, Abu Abdullah. Imam Al-Hafiz, the author of Al-Jami Al-Sahih, known as Sahih Al-Bukhari. He was born in Bukhara and raised an orphan. He made a long journey in search of knowledge. And he was a sign of memorization, knowledge and intelligence. They said: Khurasan did not rise like him. He heard the hadith in Bukhara before leaving it, as he heard in Balkh, Nishapur, Al-Ray, Baghdad, Basra, Kufa, Mecca, Medina, Egypt and the Levant. He heard about a thousand sheikhs, the most famous of whom was Abu Asim Al-Nabil, Al-Ansari, Makki bin Ibrahim, Ubaidullah bin Musa and others. Uncountable creatures narrated from him - as al-Dhahabi says - including al-Tirmidhi, Ibrahim bin Ishaq al-Harbi, Ibn Abi al-Dunya, al-Nasafi, Ibn Khuzaymah, al-Hussain and al-Qasim Ibn al-Mahamili and others. Al-Bukhari collected in Al-Jami Al-Sahih about six hundred thousand hadiths, from which he chose the ones he trusted. He is the first to write a book in this way in Islam. It is the most reliable of the six hadith books. The reason for its composition was mentioned by Al-Bukhari in his saying: I was with Ishaq bin Rahawayh, and some of our companions said: If you had collected a brief book of the Sunnahs of the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - then this fell into my heart, so I began to collect this book. He stated that he classified it in sixteen years. Al-Bukhari has other printed works, including: History; the weak in the men of hadith; creating the actions of the servants; singular literature. He resided in Bukhara, but a group became angry with him and accused him of accusations, so the Emir of Bukhara took him out to Khartanak - a village in Samarkand - where he died.
