A local music player with a design of its own. Offline, ad-free, open source.
Sono plays the music you already own. No streaming, no account, no ads, no tracking. A DESIGN OF ITS OWN Most Android music players look alike because they all lean on the same stock component library. Sono does not. Every screen, control and animation is drawn from scratch, the result of more than a year and a half of work and one complete rewrite. WHAT YOU GET Home Your recently added songs, albums and artists, one tap from opening the app. Library Your collection grouped by songs, albums, artists and playlists. Create, rename and edit playlists in a few taps. Search One query across your entire library. Instead of one long list, results come back sorted by type, and filter chips narrow them to exactly what you were after. Context modal Long press any song, album or artist to see every action available to it, plus an info tab with the full metadata behind the file. Bottom player Always on screen, on every page, so the controls are never more than a thumb away. Fullscreen player A cover carousel you swipe to move between tracks, a queue you can see and reorder, and synced lyrics. Synced lyrics Fetched once from lrclib.net, then stored on your device so they keep working offline. PLAYBACK - Gapless playback - Equalizer with presets - Bass boost, speed and pitch control - Pause when headphones disconnect - In-app volume control - Media notification and lockscreen controls MAKE IT YOURS - Light theme, dark theme, or follow the system - Choose which folders get scanned and which get skipped - Optional Discord Rich Presence, with control over album art, elapsed time and the link button - Translated by the community into a growing list of languages YOUR LIBRARY STAYS YOURS Sono reads the audio files on your device and nothing else. There is no analytics SDK and no advertising ID. Your liked songs, playlists and settings can be exported to a backup file at any time and imported again on another device. BUILT IN THE OPEN Sono is open source and built with Flutter, so it is not tied to a single platform. Windows and Linux versions are on the way once the large screen layout is finished.
